At Atlantic Dermatology and Laser we often get asked if lasers are safe for darker skins, and the simple answer is yes. However there is a much higher chance of hyperpigmentation on darker skin. So going to a well reputed laser clinic is strongly recommended. You might be seeing our BBL forever young treatment results and wanting the same results for your skin, and we can get you there. We just have to work extremely cautiously and keep in mind that patience is very
important, as treating all skin is a marathon, and not a sprint.
Dermapen is a form of collagen induction therapy, so great for anti-aging in general. However it can also be used to treat post inflammatory pigmentation, scarring or sun damage, depending on the serums we are needling into your skin. We create your own mixture of serum to treat your skin concerns.
Laser hair removal is another treatment that is safer for darker skin types, however this depends on the laser we are using. We have the NDYAG laser that can do facial hair and smaller areas. NDYAG is extremely effective and safe for the darkest of skins. BBL Laser hair removal is also safe for darker skin, as it comes with multiple wavelengths and adjustable settings for different areas and colours.

Laser Genesis is a safe and mild laser that has anti-inflammatory effects on the skin. I love to use this treatment on sensitive skin, with pigmentation and breakouts. It is not painful at all, and helps your skin calm down and prevents breakouts. It can also be used to treat hormonal pigmentation and sun damage. Without as much risk of hyperpigmentation.
Carboxy is also something safe for all skin types, whether you are wanting to treat dark circles under the eyes, stretch marks and scars, stubborn fat areas on the body or just general rejuvenation. We inject a medical grade carbon dioxide that increases blood flow to the area aiding in rejuvenation and detoxification.
